Broker keys come from Accounts and are never asked here (variant: open). ② Asset class Crypto / Equity / Option; classes the source doesn't support are disabled (Alpaca: Equity only, Binance: Crypto only). ③ Market follows source and class (US, Binance spot); Symbols is a chip input: type, or paste a list separated by commas, spaces or newlines; unknown symbols turn red after a check against the source. ④ Resolution Minute / Hour / Daily only (no tick or second). The helper line says which timeframes backtests can build from each: 5m, 15m, 30m from Minute; 2h, 4h from Hour; 1w from Daily (no monthly). Option is Daily only and asks for Underlyings, Expiry within (days) and Strikes within ±% (both required), so only near-the-money, near-dated contracts are stored, per underlying (variant). ⑤ The option filters apply to every date in the range: on each day, contracts with expiry ≤ 60 days and strike within ±20% of that day's close. ⑥ Estimate of bars or rows, size in DuckDB and download time, updated as fields change; bars already in the library are skipped. Above 1 GB an orange warning shows (variant), but nothing is blocked. ⑦ Add data closes the dialog and starts the download in the background: the dataset row shows Updating n% (02 ⑨) and a Snackbar confirms. Cancel closes without changes. ⑧ From / To date pickers. From defaults to the day after the library's last bar for this dataset and these symbols (here Equity · US · Hour stopped on 2026-10-16 after a failed update, so From is 2026-10-17); for a new dataset or new symbols From is 1 year back. To defaults to today. The grey line says what the library already has. If From is moved later than that, an orange line warns about the gap left (variant); Include gap sets From back. A gap that is left stays in the library as a gap: it is counted in Gaps (02) and shown in the dataset's coverage (02c), and Fill gaps fixes it later.
