Annotations: Add connection is a MUI Dialog (maxWidth sm) with a single form, shown here with its variants. ① Platform, the first field: a Select with a letter avatar per option (Alpaca, Tradier, Binance, Kraken, with the market on the right; variant: open). The rest of the form adapts to the selected platform: the credential fields change; values already typed in Name and Notes are kept, credentials are cleared. Binance shown. In Edit the Platform is disabled. ② Name is prefilled with the platform name and must be unique. ③ Credentials differ per platform: Binance API key + Secret key, Alpaca API key ID + Secret key, Tradier Access token + Account ID (variant), Kraken API key + Private key. Secret fields are password fields with a show / hide eye. Keys are stored encrypted and never shown again; Edit shows the saved secret masked with its last 4 characters and only replaces it if a new value is typed (variant). ④ Notes, optional, multi-line. ⑤ Test connection (text button, left) tests the values in the form before saving: a signed read-only request to the platform's live API; the result appears inline: ✓ Success, or ✕ with the error (variant: Invalid API key, the key field turns red). It becomes the Last test of the connection when saved. ⑥ Save is enabled once Name and all credentials are filled; testing first is recommended but not required (an untested connection shows Not tested in the list). After Save the dialog closes and the new row appears in the list. Nothing else is asked or detected: no balances, permissions, fee tiers or capabilities.
